My "step-uncle-in-law" was shot while dove hunting this weekend. I don't have a lot of details, but he is expected to be ok. Last I heard he was having some more surgery to remove the lead pellets which had penetrated his liver. I believe he was shot in the back while he was retrieving a downed bird.
Be safe folks!
Even though trainers and "gunnies" do not recommend bird shot for self-defense, that does not mean that you can be careless.
Be safe folks!
- All guns are always loaded.
- Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
- Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

Yikes! I hope he'll be ok and have a speedy recovery.
Any idea why someone would have fired with him "downrange"? I'd love to hear details if you get them.
